Natural Element Homes is based out of Sweetwater, TN. If you have never heard of them or seen any of their homes, after reading this article you are going to want to. We visited their campus in Tennessee recently and in addition to being some of the nicest people we’ve met, they also have some of the coolest homes we’ve ever seen!
Natural Elements is a nationwide home builder that helps you through literally the entire process (even decorating the home after it’s complete). They specialize in building a variety log and timber homes and outdoor living spaces. One of the most unique types of homes Natural Elements builds is the Hybrid Home. The hybrid is a combination of stick-built and timber that is cost efficient while bringing the wow factor of the timber frame and accents throughout the home.
My favorite of the homes that we toured while at their campus in Tennessee was a hybrid home called the Farmhouse Retreat B.
The Farmhouse Retreat B Contains:
- 1172 square feet of interior space
- 596 square feel of outdoor porch/deck space
- Two bedrooms
- Master bedroom: 15ft 0in X 13ft 0in
- Second bedroom: 15ft 0in X 13ft 0in
- Two bathrooms
- Great room
- Outdoor living area with fireplace
- Grill Porch
The Farmhouse Retreat B is a hybrid home that is the perfect blend of rustic log home and modern farmhouse. The exterior is a mix of board and batten siding and poplar shingles and really gives great contrast. The timber beams give the home a unique rustic feel that you wouldn’t expect with the board and batten siding.
As you go up the stairs to the porch, the first thing you notice is the beautiful wood decking. The porch does wrap around and as you follow it, you come to the amazing outdoor living area. I cannot get over this space!
There are vaulted ceilings with dark timber beams with a lighter wood ceiling behind it, creating beautiful contrast. The focal point of the space is the giant stone fireplace with wood mantle and room to hang a TV above it.
Coming in the front door, you are greeted with the stunning great room. As with the outside area, the ceilings really make the space. The high vaulted ceilings in the home really make it feel like there is so much space. It has the same dark wood beams with light wood ceiling behind it.
There are also really breathtaking trusses across the ceiling with huge wooden chandeliers hanging down. Panning around the room, there are plenty of windows that allow tons of natural light to shine in.
There is another fireplace, well it is actually the same fireplace from the outdoor area, just the other side of it. There is also another door that leads out to the backside of the porch.
The Kitchen is a really great use of space. It has a u shaped design in which one side is used to for seating. Unlike most counter-top seating, which is only on one side of the counter, this kitchen has space for seating on both sides allowing room for six stool.
There is plenty of counter and cabinet space in the kitchen and I love the rustic industrial shelving that was incorporated. It makes the space feel more open. The kitchen comes complete with an adorable farmhouse sink, dishwasher, cubby for a microwave, and double door fridge.
Next to the fridge are pantry cabinets with pull out shelving. Finally, there is a closet that has an option to either house your stackable washer dryer or shelves for your walk in pantry.
The master bedroom in the Farmhouse Retreat B is just stunning. It is a really nice size and has a walk in closet that joins the bedroom and the master bath. The master has the same vaulted ceilings as in the great room and the outdoor space.
The ceilings really just make the rooms seem so much grander than a normal flat ceiling room (that sounds so terrible, but it’s true). The giant chandelier helps with that as well though. I love the built in desk with the double window above it.
The master bathroom has a spacious double vanity with a huge mirror above. To the right of that is the shower tub combo with a tile surround. There is also of course, a toilet in the bathroom.
Guest Bedroom & Guest Bathroom
Coming out of the master bedroom you come to the guest bathroom. There is a beautiful double vanity with undermount sinks and stainless fixtures. There is a shower tub combo in this bathroom as well and it is also lined with a really nice tile surround.
The guest bathroom and bedroom are connected with a pocket door, but each room does have a separate door leading to the hallway as well. The guest bedroom is the same size as the master bedroom and has a really nice walk-in closet as well.
The only thing this room does not have is the vaulted ceilings. There are beautiful beams running across the room though. The guest room also has plenty of windows allowing in all of that natural morning light.
I absolutely loved this home and I don’t know about you but I can’t wait to see more from Natural Element Homes. What did you think of the home? Did you love it as much as I did or is not really your cup of tea?
Thanks for touring this with me and as always….I’ll see you in the next one 🙂
