Schult Homes always produces beautiful modular and manufactured home designs. The “Michigan Avenue” is an excellent example of this. It has a lovely open concept floor plan, which seems to be all the rage right now… well in some circles. Have no fear though, our friends at Schult Homes aren’t afraid to spice things up with some other really fun layouts either, like the “Highland Park” we just toured in Indiana. So whichever side of the fence you fall on, Schult Homes has something for everyone.
I came across the “Michigan Avenue” while on a recent trip to, well, Michigan. It was on display at Preferred Homes right there in Grand Rapids and I thoroughly enjoyed it!
The “Michigan Avenue” has an amazing split bedroom design with a beautiful kitchen and a large corner pantry. This home can either be built as a manufactured home or a modular home depending on your preference and price point. The “Michigan Avenue” is available in several other states as well. You can find Schult Homes in KY, NC, SC, TN, TX, AZ, NV, LA, MN, MI, NE, IN and WI.

Being a red head myself, I can appreciate another red head. The “Michigan Avenue” has beautiful white shutters that have a nice contrast against the red siding on this home. It definitely makes a bold statement and is perfectly topped off by a nice porch leading up to the front door.
As you head around to the side of the house you will find a door that leads into the utility room. Here you can place a great big garage or carport that not only would add extra storage space but also a great addition to the exterior look of the home. On the back side of this model there are several more windows and a sliding glass door. This time leading out from the dining room. It has “build me a deck” written all over it. Not literally, but you get where I’m going with it.
As you enter through the front door, you are greeted with an open layout that presents views of the living room and into the kitchen and dining room. There is a small partition wall that ever so slightly separates the entryway from the living room itself.
Positioned towards the front of the home, the living room has several nice windows and space for a variety of furniture configurations. The far wall, opposite the front door, would be a great spot for an entertainment center or a fireplace.
Kitchen and Dining Room
The Kitchen sits right off the living room. In the middle is a big beautiful island. Here you will find several spaces for seats and two nice size cabinets on the far side. The kitchen is laid out in a “L” configuration with the refrigerator closest to the living room.
Next to that is the stove with a built in microwave sitting above it and a lovely corner pantry tucked neatly next to it. On the opposite side of the kitchen counter is the sink and dishwasher sitting below the back window.
Across from the kitchen is the dining room. It has space for a nice size table and maybe even some type of hutch or china cabinet against the wall behind it. From here you can easily access a porch or patio through the sliding glass door of the back of the home.
Secondary Bedrooms and Bathroom
Down the hall past the dining room is the first full bathroom. It has a single vanity, a toilet and a shower and tub combo. There is also a medicine cabinet mounted above the toilet, which I find quite handy and glad to see it, though I’m not sure if that actually is apart of the home or not.
Further down the hall is a media desk that sits opposite the two secondary bedrooms. The bedrooms themselves are nice size, both measuring in at 10ft 7in X 10ft 4in. Both bedrooms are positioned towards the front of the home each with a large window and step in closets.
At the end of the hall is the utility room. Here you will find the side door, a built in with cubby wholes and hanging hooks, and a coat closet. The utility room wraps around the corner and offers up even more goodies!
Some things include a big wash basin with plenty of counter space, as well as washer and dryer hookups. All the way at the back of the room on opposite sides, are access doors to both the water heater and furnace.
The master suite sits on the opposite end of the home just off the kitchen and living room. This room also faces the front of the house. It has two great big windows towards the front and two transom windows above the bed on the side wall. The room very spacious and approximately 14ft 0in X 12ft 8in.
The en-suite sits just paste the doorway into the bedroom and has a large double vanity on one side and a stand alone shower on the opposite side. At the back of the en-suite is a magnificent soaking tub with built in cabinets climbing up the corner. Unfortunately, this tub package is no longer offered with the home according to a sign posted in the tub. However, it did show a stand alone tub they referred to as a “glamour bath”.
Finally, the master closet is also here in the en-suite. It is a large walk in with a ton of space for more clothes than I, personally could ever fill. Jenn, well, that’s a different story lol.
Ultimately, the “Michigan Avenue” is another great design by Schult Homes. I would love to hear your thoughts, so make sure to leave a comment. Other than that, have a great day and I’ll see your beautiful face in the next one!
